Reymond Sajor

First known as a finalist on Philippine Idol, Reymond Sajor has since earned a greater honor. After winning an international award, he has now released his debut album back home.

Reymond began singing when he was in grade school, his sister's multiplex tapes stoking his interest even more. He joined his first singing contest in the fifth grade when his teacher chose him to represent his class and quickly proved his talent when he won the competition.

When it came time for college, Reymond opted to take units in Advertising Management before studying voice at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music for three years and finishing Hotel and Restaurant Management in his hometown of Lucena City.

After getting the opportunity to work in Canada to finish his practicum hours, he still wanted to pursue singing. He auditioned for the Hamilton Talent Hunt and later got the grand prize for his rendition of “This Is The Moment.”

Upon returning to the Philippines, Reymond joined Trumpets where he became an understudy for the role of Prince Christian in the musical “The Little Mermaid.” He then auditioned for “Philippine Idol,” making it all the way into the Top 12. Although he didn't make it to the top, he went on to bigger things. In July 2007, he represented the country at the World Championships of the Performing Arts in Hollywood, where he bagged the title Grand Champion Senior Vocalist of the World. Along with the title, he brought home two gold and two silvers medals, one Industry award and two plaques.

Now, Reymond is set to make waves in the local music scene as he promotes his debut album released by Songstream Music, exclusively distributed by Sony BMG. Entitled “Reymond Sajor: Coming Home,” it is produced by Gerard Salonga, with one track co-produced by Vehnee Saturno. It includes the carrier single of the same title, composed by Nashville-based Andrew Fromm, and Reymond's winning piece “Anthem,” a song from the musical “Chess.” A mix of pop, alternative and ballads, the album showcases Reymond's range in music as he sings with an orchestral accompaniment by FILharmoniKA.

The release promises to bring something fresh to the local music scene. With a winning combination of talent, drive, strong faith and a great personality, Reymond can look forward to a bright future in music.
