JENNYLYN MERCADO

Making a name for herself in 2004 as the female ultimate survivor in the first season of StarStruck, Jennylyn Mercado is still a vibrant face in showbiz today.

The young star was born on May 15, 1987, and was studying at Augustinian Abbey before she joined StarStruck. She also had previous experience in singing and acting, and did some modeling as well. Jennylyn's hard work finally paid off when she joined the celebrity search show, making it right to the top to become Ultimate Survivor alongside Mark Herras.
Jennylyn's appearance in the television show was continued in “Stage 1: The StarStruck Playhouse” and “Stage 1: LIVE!” She also appeared in other TV programs, including SOP, Click, Joyride, Love to Love, and Encantadia.

She made her debut on the big screen in “Happy Together,” playing Kris Aquino's daughter. That was followed by “Let the Love Begin” and “Say That You Love Me” in 2005. In the same year, “Lovestruck” brought StarStruck finalists together in one feature film.

Not to go unnoticed is Jennylyn's vocal talent. In 2004, she released her debut album entitled “Living the Dream,” which has gone platinum. On it, she sings a duet with Janno Gibbs, their rendition of “If I'm Not In Love With You.” She has also appeared on other recordings -- “Kapuso sa Pasko” and the “Moments of Love” original soundtrack. Jennylyn held her first major concert at the Music Museum on her birthday this year. Entitled “Music In Me,” the show featured special guests Janno Gibbs, Mark Herras, Aiza Seguerra, Hale and Christian Bautista. In 2006, Jennylyn released her sophomore album entitled “Letting Go” under GMA Records. The album was a change in direction for the singer, both musically and emotionally.

This month, Jennylyn is releasing her third album dubbed “Kahit Sandali: The Best of Jennylyn Mercado.” It collects 11 songs from her first and second albums, plus three tracks including “P.S. I Love You” and the carrier single “How Do I Live (Without You),” a duet with Janno Gibbs. It is definitely a must-have for her fans and a great way to be introduced to her for new listeners.
